Is there any way to do this with a program? I've never OC'd my RAM/CPU in the BIOS, nor can I find out where in there to get so that I can change the settings. I really don't trust it since this is a newly built PC, but my RAM is DDR2 800, and my MoBo starts off supporting 1066... Is there a program that can do this, or do I have to do it in the BIOS manually?

Trust the BIOS? It's not the BIOS you should be worried about, it's the software that you're wanting to overclock with that should. As for software that overclocks, it all depends on your motherboard. I'd HIGHLY suggest using BIOS over software. If you're going to overclock, learn how to the right way first so that you actually know what you're doing. This is a very basic guide on how to do it, more of a summary. I'd always suggest doing some reading to actually fully understand what you're doing before trying to overclock your system. If you're using a pre-built computer (i.e. Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) there won't be any options to overclock, once so ever (In BIOS nor Software).

I built it from the ground up, so I know I'm able to OC. The only reason I haven't is what you've stated there - I don't know what I'm doing.

when i first overclocked my computer, i didn't know what the hell i was doing.
I would just go into your BIOS and just mess around with the FSB setting and the Volt settings
I would say set the FSB at 360 and the voltage at 1.330.
Do you have a aftermarket cooler?

The only coolers I have are the ones that came with the parts - One that came with my E8300 and one that came with my PSU, hah.

I have no idea at all - I pretty much never turn my pc off xD. Maybe that'll change once I get win 7 installed . Btw I put all of my stuff onto my external so whatever the problem with that was before it no longer exists Smiley

If you have a good mobo, you can push to about 400fsb, no volt changes.

I've hit 431FSB landing me at a whopping 3.9Ghz.

Yeah, but it doesn't help that I have no idea how to change the FSB (I can't find it... still... -.-)

Not all BIOS are the same, it's understandable, and you don't even change the FSB in AMD chips.

Lol, Yeah I'm not a true computer dude - I'm mad *sarcasm off*. There is no "Cell Menu," so you apparently don't know my BIOS.
