I don't know if anyone else knew this so i thought i would share it with you all.  I was poking around the Nvidia Control Panel and i discovered that it was defaulted to only show a limited color range in video playback. So, i was like WTF.

In the "Adjust video color settings" under the "Advanced" tab it was set to default as "Limited (16-235)" When i switched it to "Full (0-225)" movies and video playback now have the full range of color including deeper blacks and brighter whites.

Here's where it is located in the Nvidia Control Panel:

Limited (16-235):

Full (0-225):

Limited (16-235):

Full (0-225):

You may need to view the screen shots fullsize to really see the difference.

Give it a try yourself! i think it looks GREAT with "Full (0-225)" selected. Cheesy Let me know what you think.

I've tried this before on a 9600GT.

It works but it also over-saturates some of the colors.

Yeah, it's much better just to leave the default video player settings.
