I emailed this to Albert but I am posting the thread here as well so I get multiple ideas.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do I record game footage that doesn't take shit load of space on my computer. I know fraps but 3minutes is about 3gigs. Which is not accepted on youtube. I am thinking of starting this youtube channel as a hobby where I just upload six 10 minute videos and make a playlist so that people can check it out and decide if the game fits their taste/likes. I don't expect this to get big or anything. But I want to make sure its HD footage of the game (meaning the big video player). And I want to have 10 minute or 5 minute videos minimum. I heard about compression, but don't know what Youtube requires.

PS: I sent you this message and posted this on forums just in case you are too busy to reply.

Thanks,
Ziikutv.

lol record in fraps then edit it, and convert it. It becomes much smaller after converting. Fraps just makes it big so it doesn't waste cpu cycles compressing it.

record it in fraps at 60 fps(will be a huge file) but then go into windows movie maker and Encode it in HD and it will look great...

When I do 60 or higher, the audio doesnt match the video and video is not running properly. Its as if its fastforwarding. I think because the game's frame rate and fraps' frame rate is different. How do I find the correct FR for a game??
