Hey fellas.

I wanted to ask few questions. As im getting my HD4870 (gotta try out my first ATI card) then with it, id like to have more power. I mean, i dont want bottlenecking - so maybe if i overclock my CPU, would help. I googled it, didnt found much - only that people have got it to 4Ghz with stock cooler and to 4.8Ghz with aftermarket cooler. Im already clocking it, im moving slowly. Changed FSB 2 times and right now its running on 2.75Ghz or something. I increase the FSB by 5 everytime. I let winamp and other stuff working so it would take the CPU to its max. At this point - am i doing right? This is my setup, how much would i push with it?

GA-P35-DS3L Motherboard.
Intel E8200 Core2Duo 2.6Ghz +Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
2GB of DDR2 800Mhz (CL5) ram.

I think that this is enough information for now ... anyways, ill try to clock it some more - slowly. I want to get atleast 3.0Ghz or more.

Edit: Okay, currently - a screenshot of my current specs (dont know how to describe it correctly)

E8200, you don't see that one too often.

And lol, no one has reached 4.8 Ghz on an E8500 without watercooling, yet alone a E8200.

I think your goal is probably 3.4-3.6 Ghz.

Once you reach your desired frequency, run prime95 for 8-10 hours. If it's still running by the time it finishes, then it's stable. If not, you may need to increase voltages.

Also, monitor your temps, it shouldn't go past 65 C to be safe, but technically 70 C is ok too.
