Doesn't Asus have that Bios EZ Flash 2 technology on their boards ? Just use that after you go in the bios. I don't have experience with that, I never had an Asus board.

The drama continues!!! You'd think getting a brand new motherboard with support for am3 cpus labelled on it would work but you'd be wrong. I am doomed for this thing never to work. Checked online for support of my COU and its there from one of the earliest revisions of the BIOS. Memory should be good too. Motherboard is an Asus M4A785D-M PRO. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/170281#Can one of you guys run me through what is required for a computer to POST? I have memory in there, a CPU, stock cooler, 24 pin mobo connector, 4 pin ATX power, a system speaker and I power it up with a screwdriver. The screen stays blank but the fans keep spinning. I can turn it off by doing the equivelant of holding the power button on. You guys must be getting pretty bored of me.

It could be the monitor, PSU, CPU or even the graphics card. But I can't know for sure because I'm not in your position and I'm not an expert, just working with logik

things I can rule out are monitor,CPU and the memory. I thought it was a compatability problem but now I think its my fault or the psu is broken or it is my destiny not to build a computer.

Well, there's a pretty simple test for the PSU. Just start it unconnected to the computer using a paperclip, and if the fan spins continuously it should be fine.

Is the the video going straight into into your mobo or is it going through the graphics card I've had countless problems when video goes straight into mobo without a graphics card the prob I uses to get is the screen always no showing anything put a graphics card in and run the video from that and change the monitor if it doesn't work

Ok you guys. I had everything tested and it turned out to be a faulty CPU! That was unexpected. The PSU is also broken in some way or another. Now I need to return that CPU and buy another from a different website. Probably SCAN.co.uk. I will have to buy another PSU too. I'm not returning the case just to return the crappy PSU. I still don't believe that they took back 2 perfectly working motherboards. Funny. Thanks for your help anyway guys

I doubt it was Ebuyers fault, you must have been unlucky and received a faulty chip, there's bound to be one in every bulk order regardless of whom you buy from
