Mmm, there must've been some other variables in your testing other than the heatsink. Because the Dark Knight would've absolutely have had colder temps than the 'equivalent to stock cooler' there. How do I know this? The Dark Knight can keep i7's cool, that Thermaltake heatsink cannot even fathom the idea of cooling an i7.

And I disagree with your last statement, any high end WC'ing loop has > or = 1/2" tubing and so you can't simply classify all 1/2" tube owners as solely CPU coolers. Granted, multiple people who WC their CPU have 1/2" tubing, but that doesn't mean EVERYONE does.

And yes, there are some ignorant idiots who like to think they know everything, on the internet, and yes, they do tend to have strong opinions. But that's the internet, better get used to it Roll Eyes.

Oof, that's tough to agree with. As I mentioned before, I used to do reviews on CPU coolers, and there were huge differences in cooling ability between them. To take a previously used example, the V10 is about looks, but coolers like the Dark Knight, Megahalem and whatnot are completely about performance.

Did you have a fan on the Dark Knight?

+1. If you think all coolers perform the same look on any review site...ever...and find a chart of CPU cooler performance. I've seen differences of ~20ºC. Granted the high temp was usually a stock cooler.

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0324729
this thermaltake,i think thats the one i have, doesnt have push pin,and doesnt have a "copper" core but does have a blowing right on ur cpu, i exchanged my dark night a lot, with diff paste, artic silver 5,best buy brand, micro center brand,i never seen a diff using diff paste, but its deff 2 c colder at load then the dark knight and at idle,

im saying everyone has the 1/2 inch tubing/heat killer/swiftec 655/t virus res/they just cool there cpu and think they know everything/and if you disagree with them /your wrong automatically

how the heck would that $10 thermaltake that looks just like the stock cooler beat the xigmatek dark knight?

it cools good, the kit comes with a mosfet block also that i couldnt use cause i have a gigabyte ep45-ud3l, shoulda got the ud3r version,i like the motherboard outside, all my cables are inside the case with the powersupply, works out better, instead of having no room behind the mother board tray,i have 8 inches now,im happy with this kit, would recomend it for people cooling there whole system,it doesnt come with enough tubing,i had to buy more,my 9800 gt runs hot,its a hot card, with this its at 40-41 c,my e7400 is like 28-29 c, a 2 degree diff from aircooling, but you dont have those massive coolers on your stuff, and fans laying on top of your stuff, its a cleaner look.the 1/4 inch tubing

    The kit is good!

Can't read Chinese.

Plus from the pictures, the systems they're running on aren't all that powerful.

Maybe you can read English info from here

http://www.gbuintl.biz/product_con.php?ProID=170

The secreat is the 3D Micro-Structure Thermal solution in the water blocks. Due to this solution, only little water flow is needed. No wonder the vendor used such small pump. This is a smart design Wink Wink

In other words, they've added small bumps to increase surface area and therefore heat dissipation capabilities? Similar to villi and microvilli in the intestines.

However, that's a rather proprietary design as it's pretty much implemented in most water blocks already - what you see there is a marketing gimmick, and an excuse for having such a small pump and tubing in a WC'ing system. As I said earlier, the systems they're running on aren't all that powerful. Roll Eyes
