Hi, im a noob at oveclocking i have a core i5 stockclocked for now at 2.66GHz on a gd65 msi motherboard. i used to use OC geniue untill it interfered with my BIOS. I was wondering if i could get any help one where to start my voltages to get it up to about 3.5-3.7GHz and anyhelp on DRAM overclocking would be nice.

What kind of cooling are you on? If you're on stock, or are using a weak aftermarket cooler, it could cause some serious problems i.e. overheating.

Raise your FSB frequency and Multiplier. Its easy ... lets say you set your FSB to 350mhz and your multiplier to 10, you should theoreticaly reach 3.5ghz. I don't know much about i5 motherboards and the i5's multiplier. Its all about maths here, the multiplier "multiplies" the fsb's frequency, so its like this FSBxMultiplier=X.Xghz . Try raising your multiplier as much as you can before increasing the Front Side Bus frequency.
I believe the stock multiplier is at 20 so just change the FSB frequency, if you want 3.7ghz then change it to 185mhz. This should increase your CPU frequency to 3.7ghz. Im not sure what are the temps of an overclocked i5 but I asy 65 degrees celcius is about max you wantto be at, so monitor it while you do your everyday things. Hope It helps, maybe someone else will shine some more light on you

No need to raise voltages until your PC becomes unstable, we'll move on to that later.
First of all, make sure your RAM is 1:1, as in there's no speed step, it might run slower, but if it's tied to your FSB the stability is much higher and you get to pump more FSB into the CPU.
Secondly, Raise your FSB accordingly along with your QPI(that will make your memory bandwidth larger).
There's no ability to raiser multipliers on I5s IIRC.

Awesome. Did you even need to boost the VCore?
Also, what specific cooler do you have? If your cooling is good you should be able to take it higher, maybe 4.0 - 4.4 even.

Looks like my calculations were correct
Although I think with those temps you could probably hit 4.0ghz no problem
