Regardless, I'd say wait 'till the end of the month. Nvidia's releasing the 400 series at Pax '10. We'll see some solid performance numbers at that point, so you can decide if those are worth the inevitably high price, and an ATI price drop is expected with the release, so you'll get a better deal (and maybe even a better card).

That's a little much to ask for. I don't think anybody's expecting cards to drop $100 in price. However you'll probably be able to get a 5850 for $250-ish, and a 5830 for $200.

5770 dropping in price sounds great.I don't really need anything better right now so it would be perfect.

@Mattering- I'm not really a "fanboy" either Tongue   I just happened to start with Nvidia and have liked them.I have no problem trying ATI,kinda looking forward to it Cheesy

But those are 512MB ones. I'd say shell out for a 1GB model.

Oh I remember, that offer is gone now, they had it for $145.

Well I guess the ~$10 premium the HAWK commands isn't too bad at any rate.

I'd pay for the "golden sample" binning they've done on those chips.

Anyone check out the HD5830s? They're $330 and not worth it, to top it off the HD5850s are +$350 and the HD5870s are $400+, but there is one for $399 which is odd.

Man I hate the prices, I can't afford anything...

Guess I'll wait until Fermi Comes out, and then it'll be like 2008-2009 again.
