[..YouTube..] I’m writing this comment from the laptop now, it’s a great back up for my pc, the 3gb performs well, graphics are awesome. Plays just about any popular pc game. Got it from bestbuy for $750. If you’re looking for a little more space you might want to upgrade to the 140E with the 250gb hd vs the 160gb on this since vista takes up a lot of space.

[..YouTube..] We could get the Sony HitBit MSX computer here in the UK in the mid ’80s. However AFAICT it didn’t sell too well here as it was competing against the already well established Commodore 64, Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, BBC Computer, etc.
I’m pretty sure that Sony and others MSX computers where sold in the US as well, but again it had the same problem of competing against the likes of Commodore, RadioShack and Apple, which where again already well established in the market.

Reason that Sony didn’t do as well in the computer industry (other that what you just mention) is because Sony was founded in the 80′s, (Well at least that’s were the brand “Sony” started to stand out), And just like any other company wen they first start, Wasn’t very well known in the market. Like usual people always go for the Brand that they know or trust.
My point is that Sony is no stranger to the computer industry. I’m not surprise

In this case, the windows do get viruses, so this laptop is vulnerable to them. However, as long as you have a good and updated anti-virus program, it usually blocks most of the viruses

I wanted a mac but there are not as fast and yes they can’t get adware but they can still have executable trojans in them, i.e. they can delete files although they cannot dupe the KERNEL, still dangerous.

FAN is the problem! 1.5 years of having this very laptop, its cpu fan has gone dead for like 3 times.
Be sure to buy extended warranty on any sony product, cuz they dont give a damn if you are not under YMC and they ask you to send your laptop to california.
I really recommend chill-mats to be used with this, else it goes BOOM in a matter of months.
